1.6 is finally here all known bugs have been fixed and the anchor offset feature has been added which allows you to set an anchor point after you anchor. Now runs properly on ios version 5.

Anchor Alert was designed to warn you when your anchor drags or breaks loose. It will help protect you from running aground or drifting into other boats while at anchor.

* Just an FYI for those of you that dont know how to close programs that run in the background. Double click your home button(the round button at the bottom of the screen) then you will see all the programs running in the background. Hold your finger on one of the apps until they start wiggling and have an x on them then delete it. That is how you stop apps running in the background it does not delete them like on the main screen. Also this app is not recommended for iPhone 2s.

Drops a larger green dot for anchor spot and a red dot for saved anchor spot.
When you select silent mode the dropping of the anchor is now silenced
Note: "Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life."

Rev 1.4:
Added ability to change from sound to vibrate with visual alarm just press the speaker icon.
Now saves range, units, range ring and last anchor point.
Takes 10 samples after position is outside ring before alarm is sounded this should help prevent false alarms.
Calculates average of several position samples to help prevent false alarms.
Fixed several memory leaks and improved performance.
Made the dimmer function darker to improve battery life.
Added a lock/unlock feature so you can scroll and zoom around the map.

Rev 1.1:
Disabled autolock so app wont shut down.

Rev 1.2:
Now goes up to 500 in steps of 20.
Added a LED indicator to let you know when the signal is optimal for setting alarm.
Press the LED to dim the screen

Great little app for a $1.99 I will sleep tonight and not be popping my head out the hatch in 30 knot wind and rain every 1/2 hour .

Very cool & useful app! Both hubbie & I purchased it. Would like some further more detailed instructions on setting the parameters. The alarm is fantastic & will wake you immediately from a sound sleep! Good job.

Wow really works well just need to start the program and let the GPS settle on your position before pressing set. I tried it in my back yard and it really works good. It will be a great backup to my anchor alarm on my GPS. It actually seems to work better than the one in my Garmin marine GPS.

Works well...but watched my boat drag anchor from the restaurant I was at ashore. Can it dial another phone or send an email if the alarm goes off? That would be very handy...

Great app - especially with the image background for visual reference. I really appreciate the ability to see how the boat is moving around the anchor on rainy nights, or after that big wind shift. And the "alarm" ring lets me know right away if the anchor is holding or dragging. This app takes some of the stress out of those "dark and stormy" nights!

Ive spent three nights out on two separate trips and this app has worked excellently, i also purchased the two 99 cent apps that are available on the store now and was disappointed, they are missing necessary features to make them useful and are unstable one crashed repeatedly every few minutes. This app has worked exactly as described both in the foreground, the background, and while the phone is asleep. Fantastic! Ive also chatted with the developer by email and he Is committed to the future development and support of the app including some really cool and useful features such as on the fly switching of the anchor location. Dont hesitate to buy this app as a backup to your current gps nav station, or as part of a standalone gps solution along with the excellent navionics app for navigating. the best part is you can take it downstairs into the bunk with you and check the anchor without getting out of bed!

Some bad moments

Range unit is only feet and guard ring is only 500 feet pls make the units in cable or nautical miles and grow the ring.now program is not usefull for big trade ships

This is a dud. Bought a different anchor alarm that works better.

It works good BUT. There is no way to turn off the app once you open it. (At least on my phone). It keeps running the location icon until I power down the phone. Battery will be dead in 2 hours. Needs bug fix!

Twice this week I awoke to find the app had crashed during the night. If that is a problem with my phone then the system is too hazardous to use. If that is a problem with app then the system is too hazardous to use.
